5 Ways To Reward Hard Work
Every small business is only as successful as its hardest working employee. Without committed staff members who are willing to go the extra mile, you’re not going to get very far. You need people who you can rely on to get things done and get them done well. And that’s why it’s important to reward hard work.
But it’s not always easy to find the cash for salary increases and bonuses. That’s why you need to focus on other ways you can make your staff feel appreciated. Here are five ways you can reward hard work without spending a large amount of money.
Give Them A Day Off
If someone has spent an incredible amount of time and energy on a project and done a really good job, offer them a day off. It won’t cost you anything and they’ll really enjoy it. This is an especially good idea if they’ve been working a lot of overtime. Of course, you need to make sure you’re not still busy when they choose which day to take off.
Increase Their Leave Days
Obviously this should be reserved for those staff members who are consistently hard workers and produce great results all the time. It’s something you should consider when you can’t give them the full raise they deserve but want to prevent them from joining the competition.
Buy Them A Small Gift
This doesn’t have to be something big and you don’t need to hand it to them in front of all their peers. You don’t want other people becoming jealous or demotivated because they think you’re playing favourites. Just pull the employee aside and hand over the gift and explain that it’s a small token of your appreciation.
Organise Snacks And Drinks
If there is a team of people who have been working extremely hard and going the extra mile, then you need to reward all of them. Buy some drinks and snack and put them out at around 2pm.Tell the team to stop working and start having a bit of fun. It’s a great way to incorporate team bonding at the same time as rewarding their hard work.
Create A Monthly Prize
This is perfect if you want to reward people on a regular basis. It can be a small prize just to show that you care and see what people are doing. Obviously, you shouldn’t give it to the same person every month.
Whether they work in marketing or asset finance, every company needs hard working employees. And if you want to keep these staff members, you need to make sure you reward them.
